Well it is quite worrying when approximately a third of all worldwide Muslims support Jihad.

From a personal point of view I don't expect good Muslims to come out and even mention terror attacks, why would they?  I just want to stop being fed this insulting pish from all walks of like (media, politicians etc) that this barbaric, medieval horrendous belief system and the actions carried out in the name of this utterly repugnant religion all over the world is in anyway shape or form that of anything resembling peace.

Islam isn't 'undeniably' to blame. In fact, this UN report released last month found that European jihadists have little knowledge of Islamic doctrine and that economic and geopolitical factors are more relevant:

Recruiters use distorted religious references to pick up on alienation and anger which is present for other reasons. That's not to say that you can't find justifications in religious texts: you can. It's easier to do with Muslims because of the geopolitical situation in the Muslim world and racism in the West. Islam shouldn't be excluded from the discussion of what lies behind terrorism, but Islam is far from the main factor. People who simplistically say 'Islam is to blame' are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I'm not convinced that tearing down statues is appropriate, but comparisons with ISIS and the Nazis are probably more ridiculous. Especially at a time when people are marching about with actual swastika banners. There's no equivalence there.

These people, at least in many cases, have been petitioning government for some time to no effect. And the idea that every problem can be solved with 'conversation and consensus' is just objectively false.
That confederate soldiers were conscripted strikes me as irrelevant for two reasons:

1) We're talking about statues of their generals.
2) I don't think that confederate sympathisers will win this argument by appealing to the forced labour of their ancestors.

The statue that was torn down was not of any general. It was for 'the boys that wore the gray' and the statue in just of a common soldier. It wasn't the Lee statue - that's still standing as far as I am aware.
