It is surely inevitable the way he is carrying on.

It is, but hardly just yet. Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson were impeached by a Congress controlled by the opposing party. Had he not resigned to pre-empt it, Richard Nixon would've been impeached by a Democratic Congress. But now, Congress is Republican-controlled.

On that basis, I'd say something quite a lot bigger has to come out for the Republicans to get moving against Trump. Some of them would like to because well, Pence is their dream President. But others will be hugely concerned at:

1. The shitstorm Trump's more rabid supporters will kick up if he's forced out

2. Trump's potential to take a lot of them down with him.

Point 2 - that very likely, the Republicans themselves are implicated in Russian interference, and God knows what else - means, I think, they'll search for any possible way not to impeach, until it essentially becomes unavoidable. That the Democrats are simply not organised yet may buy Trump some time too.

84% of Republicans support him and dropping though. There's a red line at which point he becomes a liability to their chances in the mid terms, and at that point he's history. Howerver, there could easily come a tipping point prior to that - Republicans might be partisan and dumb as bags of hammers, but there are still enough old schoolers there who will eventually peel away like McCain has. I still think it's both inevitable and relatively imminent tbh.
