You've not had much luck with that car, Rory.

The one that got smashed by the joyrider last year was written off by the insurance, this is its replacement Pondy.

I replaced all the tyres and got the gearbox serviced(automatic) when I bought it,
since then I've only MOT'd and Serviced it and had a couple punctures at work so it's not actually been too bad.

Took it to kwik fit today for a 17” pirelli and the tracking adjusted it was £114, expensive for missing a pothole but I was just thankful they said the springs were fine, my regular mechanic is going to give it a once over just to be sure.

Ahh. Guess it worked out for you on the previous car, and as you say sounds like you've managed to come out of this relatively unscathed. It's a horrible sound Monty LewLew when you hit a pothole hard.

Aye I actually thought it was a manhole with half the cover missing, some thud! I could pursue the council but honestly don't think it's worth the time and effort

Get evidence of the pothole, how deep it is etc. and present it to the council. They'll probably fight it but keep at them. If anyone else has claimed from damage from the same pothole only helps your case. Why wouldn't you?

They would just go back and forth and I don't have the patience, the damage was minimal so I'm happy to swallow it.

given the state of our roads Acey should maybe start a wee sideline doing pothole claims, I'm sure it would be a template email and a couple of photos per claim

I seen someone's fish tank had frozen solid and killed all their tropical fish Eek Warnock

Tbf I think this sort of weather is completely unprecedented for them, the houses aren't built with the insulation for the cold so they're properly fucked Laugh

They have their own electric grid (to avoid federal regulations) and have been consistently warned for decades to prepare properly for extreme weather conditions. Didn't want to incur the expenses.

I do some freelance work for a company based in Texas and this is the fourth time in about 19 months that there have been interruptions because of natural disasters. Crowe

Looking at a high def feed of the surface of Mars and hearing the howl of the wind of a foreign planet is humbling, but I'd really rather browse the menu of a mid priced restaurant.

Pretty cool nonetheless.
