Same thing happens with my work, they subsidise a yearly panto and you'd be luck if the charity gets half of the cost for putting it on before you even factor lost productivity for folk getting time off for rehearsals etc

I certainly wouldn't want to stick a job like that but I can understand the situations which lead to people not being able to, or even wanting to move, if not the mindset as to why they wouldn't.

Thinking that your part time jobs when you were at school or as a student is in any way comparable to having to do it full time for a lifetime is laughable.
